 PEER CHOICE GOLDIES AWARDS RULES

 

Eligibility

 

Unless explicitly stated otherwise in an award category description, 2017 entrants must enter work that was produced between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. Entrants must be directly responsible for creating the work submitted.

 

Description of Awards

 

The Golden Donkey, Golden Elephant and Golden Eagle awards are symbolic of excellence in serving a campaign/client’s specific needs. That’s why entries are judged on their own merits and not against other entries that may have had very different purposes and budgets.

 

Entrants include media and direct mail consultants, new media, telephone voter contact, general campaign consultants, voter outreach organizations, and more.

 

The Peer Choice Golden Awards are bestowed in the following categories: candidate work; international work; ballot initiative work; issue advocacy work; and miscellaneous work.

 

The type of award shall be bestowed as follows:

 

• Democratic Campaign: Golden Donkey Award

• Republican Campaign: Golden Elephant Award

• International/Non-Partisan/Independent/Public Affairs: Golden Eagle Award

• Grassroots Professional Network (GPN) categories: Golden GPN Award

 

*Honorable Mention winners receive silver awards.

 

Entry Fees

 

Entry fees are non-refundable and any materials are not returnable. Failure to abide by entry requirements/rules may result in an entry being disqualified. Entry fees are non-refundable for disqualification.

 

Entry fees must be paid in full or entries will be disqualified.

 

Entries

 

All entries must be submitted on-line through our web portal. Peer Choice Awards does not accept any entries through the mail, with the exception of All-Star nominations, which are free of charge and may be submitted using the following email form: All-Star Nomination

 

Entries MUST NOT INCLUDE THE NAME OF THOSE SUBMITTING THE WORK. In order to protect anonymity and fair judging, please do not indicate the name of person, group or organization submitting the entry. Peer Choice Awards reserves the right to edit or disqualify any entry that fails to follow this rule.

 

The same entry may be submitted for multiple to categories, but each category requires a separate entry fee.

 

Non-English Entries: All non-English entries should either include an English subtitles or an English translation document.

 

Entries cannot be made without the permission of the client and/or owner of the rights of the work. All entries must have been created for a paying client except pro bono work for charities and non-profit organizations. Entries previously entered are not eligible to be re-submitted unless specifically stated in the category rules or with permission from Peer Choice Awards.

 

Peer Choice Awards reserves the right to deny acceptance of or void any entry submission, or rescind any award status for any entry that does not meet our ethical and professional standards and practices, regardless whether the entry was submitted by an individual, company or organization. Messaging that is deemed inappropriate (e.g. racist, homophobic, etc.) or is found to be demonstrably and undeniably false, may be denied acceptance, voided, or rescinded without refund. The final determination for all entries' eligibility is at the sole discretion of Peer Choice Awards, LLC.

 

Copyright and Rebroadcasting

 

Entries submitted become the property of Peer Choice Awards, LLC and cannot be returned. Each entrant grants a nonexclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, transferable, royalty-free, paid up right to Peer Choice Awards, LLC to reproduce, perform and display the entries (including, without limitation, in edited form or as part of compilations of entries) at any future show and as part of Peer Choice Awards, LLC website properties, social media pages, books, and marketing materials promoting any Peer Choice Awards program or property in any media now or hereafter known.

 

Entrant represents and warrants that it has all necessary rights to grant the rights granted herein. Without limiting the generality of the preceding sentence, entrant represents and warrants it has secured all clearances and permissions for any third party intellectual property embodied within the entry (including without limitation, clearances/licenses for music and music publishing and trademarks) and any rights of privacy or publicity.

 

Entrant will fully defend, indemnify and hold Peer Choice Awards, LLC harmless from any costs, expenses and claims incurred by or made against Peer Choice Awards, its parents, affiliated entities, subsidiaries, licensees and assigns resulting from the use of the entries as set forth herein. The person submitting this entry form(s) represents and warrants that he or she has full authority to enter this contest, submit the entry media and grants the rights granted herein. This entry form constitutes the entire agreement of the parties and the entrant warrants and represents that he or she has not relied on any promise or statement not expressly set forth herein.

 

Entry Fees and Deadlines

 

Entry Fees: Entry fees are $95 per entry. Every sixth entry shall be free-of-charge.

 

Peer Choice Awards reserves the right to amend contest deadlines and entry fees as it sees fit.

 

Judging

 

Judging shall be conducted via a panel of industry peers as selected by Peer Choice Awards.

 

Not more than two (2) individuals from the same business/organization/group may participate as judges.

 

Judges are prohibited from judging their own work or any work where they may have any conflict-of-interest. Any violation of this rule may result in automatic disqualification and possible expulsion from future contests.

 

Each entry is judged on a scale of 1-100. An average of all judges’ scoring is determined. Entries with an average score of 86 or above qualify for the Golden Donkey, Golden Elephant, Golden Eagle, or Golden GPN Award. Entries that score 76-85 qualify for an “Honorable Mention” silver award. Peer Choice Awards reserves the right to move entries into more appropriate categories in the rare instance it deems necessary.

 

Submission Technical Guidelines

 

Media uploads are limited to 2 GB each, and shall be restricted to the following file types:

 

  • Video: .avi .flv .gif .mov .mp4 .mpe .mpeg .mpg .swf .wmv

  • Audio: .aif .m4a .mp3 .wav .wma

  • Graphic/Image: .bmp .gif .jpe .jpg .jpeg .png

  • Document/Text: .csv .doc .docx .pdf .rtf .txt

  • Spreadsheet: .csv .xls .xlsx

  • PowerPoint: .pps .ppsx .ppt .pptx

 

Winner Notification

 

Winners will be notified via e-mail once the judging has been completed.

 

Award Ordering

 

Trophies may be ordered through our trophy ordering site (Trophy Orders). A link to this site is available above, in the upper right tab section. The link will also be emailed to the winning recipients along with their personal login information to access the site. Duplicate trophy ordering is allowed.

 

In addition to our trophies, certificates are also available for ordering.
